THE "JUST LIKE THAT" SUNDAY MORNING ROLL RECIPE
BY ANNABELLA ARRAS AND GÜNTER MÖLLER
...in a large bowl. Let rise for about 10 minutes. Then add...
- 1 pkg fresh yeast (42 gramms)
- 1 Tbsp liquid honey
- 350 ml luke warm water (or milk)
...and knead the dough for a while. Let rise for another 10 minutes before you punch down the dough and, for small rolls, make 15 portions out of it. Form the rolls as you wish and cut the rolls' surfaces. A variety of many different shapes (round rolls, sticks, plaits, bagels etc.) and decorations (wheat seeds, müesli, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, caraway seeds, ground cheese etc.) is most attractive. To make the decoration stick to the rolls' surface, cover them with milk first. Now bake in...
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 600 g wheat flour (or whole wheat flour)
During the first 15 minutes of baking, you may put a small bowl with water in the oven, too.
- 200° C (400-425° F) for about 30 minutes.
